Core Concepts
- Male Chastity
- The practice where a man wears a physical device (cage) that prevents erection and sexual release, with control given to a trusted partner (the keyholder). In this context, it's practiced within committed relationships to enhance intimacy and communication.
- Keyholder
- The partner (typically the wife in traditional marriages) who holds the key to the chastity device and decides when it comes off. The keyholder controls when and how sexual release occurs, creating a dynamic of trust and anticipation.
- Wearer
- The partner (typically the husband) who wears the chastity device. While physically restrained, the wearer voluntarily participates in this practice and can always request removal if needed.
- Device / Cage
- The physical chastity device, typically made from medical-grade materials like stainless steel, silicone, or resin. It prevents erection and sexual release while allowing normal bodily functions.
- Lock / Unlock
- The act of securing or removing the chastity device. "Locking" means putting the device on; "unlocking" means taking it off. Most devices use a small padlock or built-in locking mechanism.
Common Terms
- Default Locked
- A relationship dynamic where wearing the device is the normal state, and being unlocked is the exception. The wearer stays locked unless the keyholder decides otherwise, rather than asking permission to lock.
- Release / Orgasm
- When the keyholder allows the wearer to have an orgasm, either while locked (rare/difficult), unlocked through manual stimulation, or during penetrative sex. The timing and method are typically controlled by the keyholder.
- Tease / Teasing
- Playful sexual stimulation without allowing release. The keyholder might engage in flirting, touching, or other intimate acts while the wearer remains locked, building anticipation and desire.
- Denial
- The period of time when the wearer is not allowed to orgasm. "Orgasm denial" is a core element of chastity play, creating sexual tension that enhances intimacy when release finally occurs.
- Unlock Session
- A planned period when the device is removed, typically for cleaning, intimacy, or to give the wearer a break. The session has a defined beginning and end, after which the device goes back on.
- Emergency Unlock
- Removing the device immediately due to pain, medical concerns, or other urgent situations. Safety always comes first - both partners should know how to remove the device quickly if needed.
Relationship Dynamics
- FLR (Female-Led Relationship)
- A relationship where the woman has more decision-making authority. While some chastity couples practice FLR, it's not required - this site focuses on balanced partnerships where chastity is one element, not a lifestyle.
- Vanilla
- Used to describe conventional sexual practices or people new to alternative relationship dynamics. Many "vanilla" couples successfully integrate chastity without adopting BDSM or power-exchange lifestyles.
- BDSM
- Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism, and Masochism - a broad spectrum of practices involving power exchange and sensation play. While chastity can be part of BDSM, this site focuses on chastity within traditional, balanced relationships.
- D/s (Dominance/submission)
- A power exchange dynamic where one partner is dominant and the other submissive. While some chastity relationships include D/s elements, many couples practice chastity as playful partners without a formal power hierarchy.
Practical Terms
- Ring / Base Ring
- The circular part of the device that goes behind the testicles and holds the cage in place. Proper ring sizing is crucial for comfort and safety.
- Cage / Tube
- The enclosure that covers and confines the penis, preventing erection. Cages come in various lengths and styles.
- Spacer
- Small plastic pieces that go between the ring and cage to adjust the gap and prevent pullout. Finding the right spacer configuration is part of achieving proper fit.
- Anti-Pullout
- Features or techniques designed to prevent the penis from being pulled out of the device while locked. This can include proper sizing, device design features, or strategic hair placement.
- Chafing
- Skin irritation caused by friction between the device and skin. Proper fit, hygiene, and sometimes barrier creams can prevent chafing.
Time-Related Terms
- Short-term / Play Session
- Wearing the device for hours to a few days, often as part of foreplay or weekend exploration. Good for beginners.
- Extended Wear
- Wearing the device for weeks or months continuously (with regular cleaning). Requires proper device fit and hygiene routines.
- 24/7
- Wearing the device full-time as the default state, typically only unlocking for cleaning, medical needs, or when the keyholder decides. The most immersive form of chastity practice.
- Locktober
- An online challenge where participants stay locked for the entire month of October. Popular in chastity communities as a way to explore extended denial.
Note: These definitions reflect how terms are used on this site, which focuses on chastity within traditional, balanced relationships. Other communities may use these terms differently, especially in BDSM or FLR contexts.
